A goal of this blog is to raise awareness about the plight of the teenage orphans in Ukraine. Many of these orphans become unadoptable after they turn 16 and in turn, "age out" of their orphanage. Though progress has been made in the last few years, many of these kids face a harrowing reality.
60 percent of the girls are lured into human trafficking.
70 percent of the boys become hardened criminals.
10 to 15 percent of these orphans commit suicide before they turn 18.
